The transformation of scenes in particular showcase top notch visual effects that create a new standard for creatures in Bollywood. Munjya directed by Vishal Furia explores the dark folkfare of Maharashtra. The film leverages VFX to create a haunting and supernatural atmosphere that is very much required to bring supernatural narrative to practical life.

The visual effects are used to depict ghostly apparitions and eerie movement enhancing the overall horror experience and making folklore more  realistic and frightening. A remake of the Tamil film “Kanchana“, Laxmi is directed by Raghava Lawrence  and stars Akshay  Kumar and Kiara Advani. The film uses VFX extensively to create supernatural horror scenes.

The visuals play an important role in depicting ghost’s power and transformation scene of the protagonist.

Despite receiving mixed reviews, Laxmii was noted for using visual effects to enhance the film's spooky and dramatic moments. In another example, Bhoot: Part One – The Haunted Ship, directed by Bhanu Pratap Singh and produced by Karan Johar, stars Vicky Kaushal. Set mainly on an abandoned ship, the film uses VFX to create its eerie surroundings and intensify the feeling of isolation and supernatural activity.

The ghostly apparitions and paranormal activity are brought to life with impressive visual effects adding to the eerie feel. Pari directed by Prosist Roy and starring Anushaka Sharma is a supernatural horror film that uses VFX to create a dark and unsettling environment. The visual effects play a pivotal role in depicting supernatural elements including the portrayal of demonic entities and ghostly appearance.

The VFX contribute significantly to the film’s eerie ambiance thus increasing its horror element and making it unique in the genre. In some Hollywood horror movies VFX is utilized in a way so that it gives shocks and worst fear.

One horror Filmmaker James Wan made ‘The conjuring ‘2013 and The Conjuring 2. In ‘’The conjuring ‘’ VFX artist Juan Vargas created a computer generated Chair which moves on its own Glass and Crucifix. VFX artist David Ridlen created CGI sheet bird and necklace

The demon Valak was created with the help of visual effects, while CGI was used to depict supernatural moments such as demons emerging from paintings and flying through the air. Paul Verhoeven's science-fiction horror film Hollow Man also received an Academy Award nomination for Best Visual Effects in 2001.

In Ghost Rider (2007), the VFX team, led by supervisor Kevin Mack and Sony Pictures Imageworks, faced the challenging task of creating realistic CGI fire for the character on a shot-by-shot basis. Directed by Mark Steven Johnson, the film was based on the Marvel Comics character.

The best visual effects may be achieved by using both practical and digital work. CGI tools are used to create more enhancement to existing live action.
